The Permanent Exhibition

The exhibition floor plan

The exhibits come from excavations carried out during the 20th century, so far in the prefectures of Larissa, Trikala and Karditsa, from supplies and donations of objects and antiquities repatriation. Overall the report will be exhibited around 2000 objects.

Mission of the museum is determined to renegotiate the relationship of the inhabitants with the past and its remains and their awareness for their protection, through the foundation of a dynamic relationship with the concepts of archeology, heritage, material culture and cultural management. This relationship is based on the Museum's permanent infrastructure and further reinforced by periodic actions.

The basic narrative of the report is the Thessalian space over time, the institutional organization of society and the course prior to this organization. The approach of this journey in time and space is inside the triangle: state institutions, powers. In some sections highlighted features for time issues as distinct subsections. These options are defined by the archaeological material itself.
